There are so many people to thank for helping make this past weekend (13 & 14 October) such a success for our association. As October is breast cancer awareness month, we arranged for several doctors from the Hippocrateio Hospital (Athens) to come to Mykonos to examine and consult with local residents. Over the weekend, 123 woman were interviewed for their medical histories. All received palpation exams, many had breast ultrasounds and a few had biopsies taken.
On Saturday evening Professor Georgos Zografos and his amazing team led a discussion on breast cancer diagnosis and therapy at the Cultural Center of Ano Mera. We cannot thank them enough for helping us stress - through their words and actions - the importance of preventive healthcare and early detection.
