Our vision and mission
Our vision is to offer every person diagnosed with or living with cancer high quality palliative care.
Our main concern is to provide emotional, psychological and social support to patients facing cancer and to their families, and to inform and raise awareness in society about cancer and patients' rights.
We also aim:
- To raise public awareness of prevention and early diagnosis.
- To involve and attract more volunteers to strengthen the work of our Association.
What we do
- We pay travel tickets and accommodation in Athens for patients receiving treatment.
- We organise free screening days with volunteer doctors: breast, prostate, melanoma and colorectal screening.
- We raise awareness, for example during October breast cancer month and on World Cancer Day (4 February), with talks on prevention, nutrition, stress and smoking cessation.
- We raise funds with our Christmas bazaar, the Vasilopita and community events, and we gratefully receive donations, including donations in memory of loved ones.
- We keep weekly office hours on Wednesdays, where you can come and talk to us.
